Beginning ABA Therapy

We understand the challenges of starting ABA therapy for your child. At Orion ABA Inc, we provide applied behavioral analysis (ABA) therapy. Our team of professionals is dedicated to working closely with you and your loved ones. We provide therapy in your own home.  Our senior clinicians create individualized treatment plans to meet their needs.  Call us today to start meeting your goals!

Step 1 – Call Orion ABA Inc

A clinician will guide you through the intake process and obtain basic information. We will set up a time to meet with you and your loved one in your home.

Step 2 – Consultation with Our Clinical Team

Our team led by the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst will meet you in your home. At this meeting we will talk to you about your child’s strengths and needs as well as your hopes and dreams for your child. We will also review the services Orion ABA Inc provides, share autism resources, and begin the individual assessment process to develop a customized intervention plan for your loved one. If you are unsure if you are interested in receiving services from Orion ABA Inc, we will provide you with alternative resources so that you can select the provider that best suits your needs. If you feel that Orion ABA Inc is a good fit for your family, we will move forward with the next steps.

Step 3 – Complete Paperwork and Insurance Verification

Our billing expert will provide a thorough explanation of your benefits, detailing the services covered by your insurance provider as well as the co-payments and/or deductible that you are responsible for. We will also review the Orion ABA Inc client handbook that outlines our company policy and procedures, and information about our services so that you know what to expect from the start.

Step 4 – Initiating Services

While waiting for your insurance to verify your benefits, we will initiate the assessment process so that there is no gap in services. During these initial meetings, our goal is to establish a positive working relationship with you and your loved one. Our goal is to empower your family to improve the quality of life of your child.

Step 5 – Assessments

A BCBA will conduct a variety of assessments including a Functional Behavioral Assessment, language assessment, and social skills assessment.

Step 6 – Implementation of Individualized Services

The BCBA will develop a treatment plan based on the gaps identified in the assessments completed as well as individualized goals that family has selected. The BCBA may also suggest environmental modifications based on the information collected during the assessment process.

Once the treatment plan has been approved by the family and authorized by the insurance company, a team meeting will be convened to review the plan and introduce all team members including an experienced Behavior Therapist that will implement the programming created by the BCBA. The Behavior Therapist will meet with your child in your home anywhere from 15 to 35 hours per week.

Step 7 – Progress Review

An online portal account is created for your child so that you can monitor your child’s progress in the identified goal areas. Your parent portal grants you access to your child’s schedule, session notes, data, reassessment reports, and resources. On a monthly basis, the team will meet to discuss progress towards your child’s goals, to update your child’s treatment plan, and to work on programs with your child in a group setting to encourage consistency.
